Being a mother is one of the most beautiful but also one of the most stressful times of our life.

To maintain our wellbeing, sanity & happiness through this stage of our life we like to make sure that we stay relaxed, healthy and well tuned with ourselves.

Lets be real your body has been through a lot, pregnancy, labour, breastfeeding and all other duties which come with being a parent. You want to get back to shape, but  you might not be quiet sure where to start or might cant even think about it. Yoga is the perfect solution here because it not only helps your body to feel fantastic, it also replaces and calms your mind and you recharge your batteries to be that wonderful mum you like to be instead of worrying about little unimportant things.

Yoga which has its roots and history in India is actually meant for the purpose of developing a higher awareness which is of spiritual nature but it also elevates the awareness of what actually happens to oneself during stress – emotionally, physically, mentally and energetically which brings us back to why Yoga is such an amazing tool for mothers. Yoga today has been recognised to have incredible health benefits such as

  • Improves health
  • Gives mental strength
  • Increases physical power
  • Promotes flexibility
  • Improves sleep
  • Balances metabolism and therefor promotes weight loss
  • Detoxifies the body
  • Positive effect on the parasympathetic nervous system
  • Can lower blood pressure & heart beat
  • Helps anxiety
  • Helps depression
  • Improve digestion
  • Strengthen immunity
  • Effective in elimination of toxic wastes

Of course there are many types of exercise that you can choose from to help shape up and lose weight, but yoga is one of the only exercises that also focuses on elevating your mind & spirit. The regular practise of yoga will decrease your stress levels (check out this blog: >fill in may be<  “How Yoga reduces stress”) and will result in you becoming a more patient parent and with a little experience it can easily also be practised at home.
