Andrea Ushananda Morava
Andrea Ushananda Morava is the founder and director of Prana Yoga Perth and a senior teacher recognised by Yoga Australia. Practising yoga since 1988 and teaching since 1993, Andrea brings more than three decades of teaching experience to every class.
Her teaching combines breath-led movement, clear anatomical alignment and progressive instruction. She creates a welcoming environment in which students can understand their bodies, develop confidence and build a safe, sustainable yoga practice.
Andrea began her yoga journey at the Dr Susanne Schmida Institute in Vienna. In 1995, she helped establish the Prana Yoga Institute in Vienna, where she taught until 2000. Her training includes a three-year Iyengar Yoga teacher training in Amsterdam and study of the first and second series of Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India. Her teachers have included B.K.S. Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, B.N.S. Iyengar and Nicky Knoff, among others.
Her study of body psychotherapy, including the work of Dr Wilhelm Reich and Alexander Lowen, has deepened her understanding of the relationship between the body, personal history and emotional wellbeing.
